Governor Walz, Senator Klobuchar to Provide Update on Conditions in Aerial Survey

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Today, June 25, 2024, Governor Tim Walz and United States Senator Amy Klobuchar will take an aerial tour of Southern Minnesota to survey damage following storms and heavy rainfall across the region. High water levels and severe flooding have impacted homes, businesses, and infrastructure. Following the tour, Governor Walz will return to St. Paul to provide an update on conditions. 

Several counties have declared local emergencies and activated emergency operations plans. On Saturday, following a request from the Le Sueur County Sheriff, Governor Walz declared a peacetime emergency and authorized the Minnesota National Guard to provide assistance with flood operations.
