Craig was born on June 12,1961, in Starbuck, Minnesota, to Clarmont & Virginia Ronnie. He was baptized and confirmed at the Cyrus Lutheran Church. Craig graduated with the Cyrus High School Class of 1979. Following high school, he headed off on an adventure with his good friend, Kent Engrebretson, to work on a ranch in Hyattville, Wyoming. He then returned to the family farm to continue farming with his dad, Clem Ronnie. Craig also worked for Morris Sealcoat and Meixel Trucking. He enjoyed following NASCAR racing and was able to travel to some races with his buddies. Each fall he looked forward to carrying on the traditional deer camp at the family farm where he would sit along the banks of the Chippewa River. He also found much joy in working and simply staying busy. Craig had a few fun nicknames such as: Uncle Buck, Whiskers, and Craigers. He loved giving people grief just to see them smile and give it right back. He had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand.
