SEARCH FOR NEW GFW SUPERINTENDENT

The GFW School Board approved the South Central Service Cooperative of Mankato to lead the search for a new superintendent.  Jeff Horton announced last week that he has accepted the superintendent position at Southwest Metro Intermediate School District 288 in Shakopee.  Horton will start his new job Monday but also continue as superintendent at GFW until July 15.  The GFW board is asking district stakeholders to complete a short survey to help them make an informed decision on what skills and focuses the new superintendent should have.  The plan is to advertise, recruit, accept applications and screen candidates through July 5, review candidate applications July 8 and 9, inter candidates on Jul y11 and hopefully approve a new superintendent contract July 15.  Horton will also continue to work with GFW in an executive coaching role and project manager for the new PreK – 12 school building project.  You can find more information at www.gfwschools.org.
