Norbert Peter Hennen

Norbert Peter Hennen, age 95 and 10 months of Prior Lake, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

A Christian Funeral will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11 am, with a visitation from 9:30-10:45 am, at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake. Reverend Dr. Brent Parrish will preside. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hennen, John Hennen, Adrienne Bond, Vanessa Dalbec, Leslie Hennen, Wyatt Lehne, Jack Boike, and Lauren Boike. Norbert will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

On September 2, 1928, Norbert was born into this world by parents, Joseph and Rose (Kersting) Hennen, in Spring Lake Township, MN. He was the sixth of seven children.

On May 22, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, Norbert married Betty Jean Kohout. They were happily married for 64 years, until Betty’s passing in 2019. Six children blessed their lives, Randy, Norbert Jr, Lori, LeAnn, Cathy and Cindy. They raised their children on the farm in Cedar Lake Township, MN.

Farming was Norbert’s passion, however, he worked at Cargill in Savage, MN, for 38 years. When not working Norbert loved watching baseball, playing cards, polka dancing and fishing.

Forever a jokester, we will certainly miss Norb’s sense of humor. He was always trying to elicit a smile from everyone he met.

Norbert will be sadly missed by his children, Norbert J (Kathy) Hennen Jr., Lori Zeug, LeAnn (Kevin) Arndt, Cathy (Mark) Retrum, Cindy (Tim) Boike; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Kraft; other relatives and friends

Norbert was greeted home in Heaven by his wife, Betty; son, Randy; parents, Joseph and Rose; siblings, Antonette (Florian) Hentges, Clarence (Suverna) Hennen, Rita (Joe) Breeggemann, Esther (Wilfred) Hentges, Richard (Ellen) Hennen; brothers-in-laws, Herb Efta and Florian Kraft.
