LUNCH AND A BITE

The Brown County Historical Society is holding another Lunch and a Bite event today (Thursday) at the museum annex 12 North Broadway New Ulm.  Terry Sviene will be giving a presentation on on one of New Ulm’s unsung heroes Francis Baasen.  Baasen was New Ulm’s first lawyer, Minnesota’s first Secretary of State, two-time state representative, city councilman, county commissioner, county attorney, city attorney, one of the founders of New Ulm’s Catholic Church and helped with Minnesota’s constitution.  Sviene calls Baasen “New Ulm’s most publicly achieved citizen.  Sviene has written a 419-page book on Baasen.  Lunch and a Bite starts at noon at the annex.  The event is free but you needed to make reservations to attend.
