FEMA TO VISIT BLUE EARTH COUNTY THURSDAY

The Federal Emergency Management Agency will be in Blue Earth County today (Thursday) visiting various properties throughout the cities and townships, specifically those that completed a Property Damage Report as part of their preliminary assessment of flood and rain damage.  The preliminary assessments will assist in determining potential eligibility of Individual Assistance for Blue Earth County residents.  Blue Earth County was one of 22 Minnesota counties included in a Federal Disaster Declaration issued on June 28.  The Individual Assistance program offers financial assistance and direct services to assist with uninsured and underinsured necessary expenses and serious needs.  But officials say it is not a substitute for insurance.  FEMA will be visiting hundreds of properties in Blue Earth County.  Any Blue Earth County or FEMA representative should be able to provide proper identification when asked and will likely be wearing an identifying shirt or vest.
