Lynx rally for victory, heading into long break
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx took over in the fourth quarter and notched an 86-79 win over the Atlanta Dream at the Target Center in a matinee game yesterday. The Lynx trailed by four heading into the final frame before going on a 30-19 run to end the game. Kayla McBride poured in 30 points in the victory, while reserve guard Natisha Hiedeman finished with 18 points off the bench. Center Alanna Smith registered a 13-point, ten-rebound double-double. Minnesota is now tied for third place in the W-N-B-A at 17-8. Atlanta lost for an eighth straight time and fell to 7-17. The Lynx don’t have another game until after the All-Star and Olympic breaks. Minnesota’s next regular season game comes on August 15th at home against Washington. In other team news, McBride will take part in tomorrow night’s Three-Point Contest as part of W-N-B-A All-Star festivities in Phoenix. She will also play in the All-Star Game on Saturday.
