Suspect Caught After Vehicle/Foot Chase in Willmar

A suspect was caught in Willmar after first fleeing authorities in a vehicle and then on foot Friday morning.

Agents with the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force were attempting to stop a vehicle after it had left a residence in the 900 Block of 3rd Street SE. It was believed the driver had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Authorities say the driver pulled over briefly then quickly accelerated and fled for about four blocks and pulled into a dead end. The driver then ran into a wooded area where he was apprehended.

Authorities say the driver had multiple warrants for his arrest and a search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine and cocaine.
