GFW APPROVES NEW SUPERINTENDENT CONTRACT
The GFW School Board unanimously approved an 11-month superintendent contract with Kelly Smith at their meeting Monday. The board interviewed three candidates chosen by the South Central Services Cooperative. Smith is a former math teacher, athletic director and business manager at GFW. He was chosen over former Waconia superintendent Pat Devine and former Red Wing Superintendent Frank Norton. Smith’s contract will begin August 1st. Current Superintendent Jeff Horton accepted a position at Southwest Metro Intermediate School District.
