Twins Take Final Game Of Series
The Minnesota Twins used a five-run third inning to beat the New York Mets 8-3 yesterday at Citi Field, salvaging the final game of the three-game series. Minnesota outfielder Byron Buxton opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning, and D-H Matt Wallner added a two-run shot in the third. Pablo Lopez earned his tenth win after striking out seven and holding the Mets to two runs on three hits in six innings. Minnesota is off tonight and will start a three-game weekend series against the struggling Chicago White Sox tomorrow night at Target Field.
