Marvel H. Tesch

Marvel H. Tesch, age 99 of Henderson, passed away on July 30, 2024 at Cura of Le Sueur. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson at 11 a.m. Visitation will be that morning at the church from 9-11 a.m. Interment to follow in Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN. Lunch in the church social hall to follow the burial.

Marvel was born on July 8, 1925 in Blakeley Township, MN to Walter and Helen (Kroening) Wolpern. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1944. Following graduation, Marvel worked for Cargill in Savage, MN and traveled to Hanford, WA with her father for one year doing military contract work during WWII. When she returned home, she worked for Tom Lynch Insurance in Belle Plaine as a bookkeeper.

She attended a dance in Jordan where she met the love of her life, Earl Tesch. Six months later they were married on November 20, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, MN. Marvel raised their children on the family farm outside Henderson where she worked side by side with her husband Earl. Together they shared 65 years of marriage. She was involved in many things, including the Women’s Guild at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Henderson’s Home Extension group and Pioneer Power.Marvel also had many hobbies that included gardening, quilting, and most of all, baking.

Marvel is survived by her children, Beverly (Larry) Stueber, Glen (Lisa) Tesch, and Glenna (Steve) Fries of Henderson, MN; grandchildren, Daniel (Darcy) Stueber, Mark (Erin) Stueber, Emily (Nathaniel) Doehling, Andrew (Kassandra) Tesch, Alyssa (Sean) Carnahan, Bradley (Crystal) Fries and Bryan (Mary) Fries; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl in 2013; brothers, Harold and Leslie Wolpern, infant brother, Marvin Wolpern, brother and sister in-laws and one nephew.
