Twins win in Wrigley

(Chicago, IL) — The Minnesota Twins extended their winning streak to five straight games with a 3-0 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field last night. Minnesota pitching struck out Cubs hitters 14 times and allowed only four hits in the shutout. Rookie right-hander David Festa earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings and fanning a career high nine. Caleb Thielbar, Jorge Alcala, Jhoan Duran and Griffin Jax each tossed an inning of relief with Jax registering his eighth save. Manny Margot homered in the victory, while Royce Lewis also drove home a run. Cubs righty Kyle Hendricks was charged with his tenth loss after surrendering two runs on five hits in six innings. Minnesota improved to 63-48 and trails first-place Cleveland by three-and-a-half-games. Game two of the three-game interleague series is tonight at 7:05 P-M in the Windy City.
