Air Quality Alert Issued
The Minnesota Department of Health has issued an air quality alert for northwest and west-central Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, ground-level wildfire smoke is expected to impact the Red River Valley from the Canadian border Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. Northerly winds are expected to persist for several days.
This air is unhealthy for everyone. Wildfire smoke can irritate eyes, nose, and throat, causing coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, dizziness, or fatigue.
