ACLU Sues Detroit Lakes Schools Over Rainbow-Display Ban
The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota is challenging a Detroit Lakes school policy restricting rainbow displays.
The lawsuit says the district prohibits students from displaying rainbow stickers, flags, posters and buttons.
The A-C-L-U argues the restriction violates students’ constitutional free-speech rights and the Minnesota Human Rights Act. The allegations will now be considered in court.
