Ada Man Charged Following 127-Mile-Per-Hour Chase

An Ada man faces several charges following an alleged high-speed chase in Clay County.

According to the criminal complaint, a deputy clocked 36-year-old Geoffrey Kohoutek driving 127 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone near Felton early August 1st.

Prosecutors allege Kohoutek fled at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour before losing control and entering a ditch. Authorities say he resisted arrest and drank from an open bottle of vodka after stopping.

Kohoutek is charged with fleeing police, D-W-I, speeding, obstruction, carrying a weapon without a permit and having an open container. He remained in the Clay County Jail as of Friday morning.

The charges are allegations, and Kohoutek is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
