Alex Rodriguez Expands Timberwolves and Lynx Ownership Role
Alex Rodriguez says he plans to increase his investment and involvement with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx as part of the franchises’ ownership restructuring.
Pending league approval, Rodriguez will remain co-chairman, serve as governor of the Lynx and become alternate governor of the Timberwolves.
Technology investor Marc Stad is purchasing most of Marc Lore’s ownership stake and is expected to become the controlling owner. Lore will remain involved as a minority investor.
The agreement values the two franchises at approximately four-and-a-half-billion dollars. Rodriguez says he is energized by the changes and plans to spend more time working with both teams. The transaction still requires approval from the N-B-A Board of Governors. NBA ownership background
