Anthony Edwards Drops 41 as Timberwolves Cruise Past Jazz for Eighth Straight Win
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Anthony Edwards exploded for 41 points on Sunday, leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to their eighth consecutive victory with a dominant 128-102 win over the Utah Jazz.
Jaden McDaniels notched a double-double by halftime and finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Donte DiVincenzo contributed 11 points and seven assists. The Timberwolves remain locked in a tight battle with Golden State for the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
Collin Sexton led the Jazz with 22 points, while Walker Kessler posted a strong performance with 15 points and 19 rebounds. Lauri Markkanen added 16 points, but Utah struggled offensively, committing 22 turnovers and extending their losing streak to nine games.
Edwards was unstoppable, hitting 16 of 27 shots, including five three-pointers. It marked the seventh time this season he has scored 40 or more points in a game.
The Jazz were without two of their top three scorers, as Keyonte George (foot) and John Collins (ankle) sat out. Their absence was evident as Utah failed to find offensive rhythm.
Minnesota’s last loss came against the Jazz on February 28, a game in which they were missing three key players—Edwards (suspension), Rudy Gobert (lower back), and Julius Randle (groin strain).
Edwards set the tone early, pouring in 19 points in the first eight minutes, highlighted by a ferocious dunk over the 7-foot Kessler to put Minnesota up 28-12.
With his performance, Edwards (8,731 career points) moved past Andrew Wiggins for third place on the Timberwolves’ all-time scoring list, now trailing only franchise legends Kevin Garnett (19,201) and Karl-Anthony Towns (13,121).
