Area Conservation Officers Talk Turkey, and Walleye, and Otter
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have been checking on area turkey hunters and say the turkey population appears to be doing well. Conservation officer Tony Hams in Warroad says high numbers were observed and heard.
Meanwhile, Conservation officer Nick Bruesewitz in Karlstad says he spent last week investigating the illegal dumping of walleye carcasses.
Conservation officer Sarah Jahn in Thief River Falls says time was spent handling various wildlife-related complaints. She says calls about incidentally caught otters were taken last week.
