Arrest in Meeker County Pursuit/Stolen Vehicle Incident

A 35-year-old Darwin man was arrested Tuesday night after a short vehicle and foot pursuit in Meeker County.

At about 8pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the St. John’s Catholic Church cemetery in Darwin. A responding Deputy located the vehicle and attempted to make contact with the driver but he fled and a pursuit began.

After a short vehicle pursuit, the driver parked the vehicle and fled on foot but was caught and arrested without further incident and taken to jail.

The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Wright County.

Authorities are requesting charges of Fleeing a Peace Officer, Receiving Stolen Property, and Reckless Driving.
