BCA Investigating Fatal Shooting of Suspect in Belle Plaine
(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota BCA is investigating the fatal shooting of a murder suspect in Belle Plaine by St. Paul police officers.
Officers say the 29-year-old man is accused of fatally shooting a woman who was painting a mural in St. Paul’s Lowertown neighborhood Wednesday night.
Authorities tracked the suspect’s vehicle to Belle Plaine and monitored him overnight before he came out of the house Thursday morning.
Investigators say he was armed with a gun when police tried to take him into custody and two St. Paul officers shot him.
The man was treated at the scene and later died in the hospital.
