BCA Investigating Stearns County Jail Death Announced 10 Days Later

(St. Cloud, MN) — The BCA is investigating the death of a Stearns County Jail inmate that was announced ten days after it happened.

Authorities say 34-year-old Isiah Ero-Phillips was found unresponsive in his cell early September 12th, one day after his arrest on suspicion of felony domestic assault.

Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.

The sheriff’s office says bringing in the BCA is routine for an in-custody death.

Authorities have not explained why the death wasn’t publicly announced until Tuesday.
