“Belonging Begins With Us” to Celebrate Unity in Hutchinson
This year will mark the second “Belonging Begins With Us” celebration in Hutchinson that’s being held later this month.
Organizers say music, games, food and a flag ceremony representing the native lands of Hutchinson residents will highlight the celebration at Masonic/West River Park on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 3pm.
The event aims to bring neighbors across the city together to learn more about one another and foster a sense of welcome and acceptance.
Oliver Ferguson of Ridgewater College, one of more than a dozen community organizations hosting the event, says “This event is a celebration of the diversity of those who call Hutchinson home while sending a clear signal that ours is a community where all are welcomed to work, study, raise a family, and thrive.”
