Benintendi Powers White Sox Past Twins 3-2

Andrew Benintendi accounted for all three Chicago hits as the White Sox edged the Minnesota Twins 3-to-2 Saturday at Target Field.

Benintendi drove home Chicago’s first run with a first-inning single. He doubled and scored the tying run in the fourth before hitting a 381-foot solo homer in the sixth to break a 2-all tie.

Minnesota scored both of its runs during the opening two innings. Josh Bell delivered a sacrifice fly, and rookie Walker Jenkins drove in the first run of his major-league career.

Jenkins also recorded his first big-league double and stolen base, but the Twins were held scoreless over the final seven innings.

Minnesota falls to 64-and-72 following its fourth consecutive loss. MLB
