Benson School Board Meeting Tonight

The Benson School Board will hold a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Northside Elementary School Cafeteria. On the agenda: a discussion of a 4-day school week; a report on the American Indian Mascot Law and the Exemption Letter the District wrote to keep the Braves as their nickname; a proposal for the distribution of the estate of Helen Mortenson, who is leaving nearly $161,000 in her will to the Benson School District; and an Eagle Scout Project by Carson Petrak to build a Gaga Ball Pit. Also of note to some Morris listeners, Natasha Mortenson, a former teacher in the ag department at Morris Area High School, is being appointed as an ag teacher in Benson.
