BIRD ISLAND BUSINESS DAMAGED BY FIRE

A business in Bird Island was damaged by a fire Tuesday morning.  The Bird Island Fire Department says they were called at 5:14 am to the hardware store for a fire in the attic.  Olivia and Hector Fire Departments were called for mutual aid.  The roof collapsed but no injuries were reported.  Fire officials say they don’t know the exact cause yet but say they do not suspect foul play.  The investigation is continuing.
