BLOOD SHORTAGE CRISIS

The American Red Cross declared a “blood crisis” earlier this month as blood supplies have reached a four-year low.  The Red Cross had a 25-percent decrease in donations in June and then in July the extreme heat has played a part, poor air quality and widespread food borne illnesses.  There are opportunities for you to give blood coming up.  Friday the bloodmobile will be set up at St. Mary’s Church in New Ulm from 9 – 2 and at the MERIT Center in Marshall from noon to 5.  It will be in the area at a few stops next week as well including at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton Monday from noon to 6,  and at St. Michael’s church in Morgan Tuesday from noon to 6.  Find out more at red cross blood dot org or you can call 1-800-RED-CROSS for more information or make an appointment.
