Bob Costas hangs up his Play by Play Microphone

(New York, NY) — Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Costas is retiring from his M-L-B play-by-play duties. Costas confirmed the news to “The Athletic” on Thursday. His last time in the booth as a play-by-play announcer came in Game 4 of the A-L-D-S when the New York Yankees clinched the series. Costas has been M-L-B Network’s lead play-by-play voice since the channel went on the air 15 years ago. The 72-year-old called his first M-L-B game 44 years ago for N-B-C.
