BOELTER SET TO APPEAR IN STATE COURT
Vance Boelter is scheduled to make his first appearance in state court this (Monday) afternoon. Boelter was indicted on two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, felony cruelty to an animal and impersonating a police officer in Hennepin County. Boelter confessed in federal court that he killed House Speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their dog Gilbert and also wounding state Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. The state case will not be affected by his federal guilty plea and sentence. A massive manhunt for Boelter lasted 43 hours and ended with his arrest in rural Green isle.
