Boil Water Advisory Issued for Chokio

The City of Chokio has issued a boil water advisory after a loss of water pressure caused by a mechanical failure of the well pumps on May 10.

Residents should not drink tap water unless it has been brought to a full rolling boil for at least one minute and allowed to cool. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

Pressure has been restored and the water tower is being filled. The city says the issue is expected to be resolved within one day, and residents will be notified when the water is safe to drink again.
