BOLD SCHOOL BOARD TO MEET TO FIGURE OUT DEFICIT

The BOLD School Board meets tonight (Monday) to work on a plan to balance this year’s budget without making too much of an impact on district residents and students.  At the BOLD meeting in February, Superintendent Jim Menton  informed the board that it is facing around a $700,000 budget deficit.  Menton told the board they are short about $400,000 in the transportation fund, $200,000 in payroll and have over $100,000 in unpaid bills.  The district’s former business manager is under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Olivia police.  The business manager resigned after an audit was released in September.
