Brewers 3-2 over Twins
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Milwaukee Brewers won the opening game of a three-game interleague series with the Twins at Target Field last night 3-2. Minnesota held a 2-1 lead into the eighth inning when a nice defensive play was negated by an obstruction call, resulting in the tying run to score. Royce Lewis placed a tag at third base on Brewers runner Jackson Chourio, who slid into Lewis’ foot, and obstruction was called, and Chourio was awarded home base. Jake Bauers then doubled home the go-ahead run to put Milwaukee ahead for good. Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan worked six innings of four-hit, one-run baseball, striking out seven. He got a no-decision. Andrew Morris took the loss out of the bullpen. Game two of the series is tonight in downtown Minneapolis First Pitch at 6:10 p.m. Pregame at 5:30 p.m.
