BROWN COUNTY TESTS VOTING MACHINES

Brown County election officials conducted a Public Accuracy Test Monday and confirmed the equipment was in working order as we approach Election Day.  Any election jurisdiction using an electronic voting system must conduct this test to make sure the equipment is working.  Brown County has nine electronic voting tabulators spread across 13 polling places.  Ballot with errors are rejected during the test.  The machines are also tested to ensure they can read the ballot whether it’s inserted frontward or backwards.   Direct balloting in Brown County starts Friday.  Absentee voters can visit the courthouse, vote and place their ballot directly into a tabulator.
