Bruce was born on April 6, 1963 to Allen and Amy Paulson. Growing up in Herman, Minnesota, Bruce led “The Paulson Boys” in various traditional activities including: Boy Scouts, track and field, football, baseball, basketball, fishing, coin collecting, gopher trapping, rock picking, and delivering newspapers. He also loved drama, music, choir, tap dancing, and playing the clarinet-just like his dad Allen. Bruce’s family moved to Brandon, South Dakota in 1981 where he graduated high school in 1982. Most of his working life was spent in the food and retail industries including Burger King, Taco Bell, Fred Meyer, Goodwill, Walmart, and finally Glacier Brewhouse.

Highlights of his life were traveling to Florida for a band trip in high school and an Alaskan cruise he took with Brian in 1997. That trip inspired Bruce and Brian to move to Alaska where they lived for the last twenty years. Recently Bruce enjoyed concerts, baseball games, sightseeing, fishing, watching wildlife, and visiting zoos.

His overall character was one of kindness, quietness, simplicity, helping, and acceptance. Bruce’s spiritual journey started at a young age. He always was tender toward truth and searched several paths. In the final days of his life, on June 6, 2024, with simple faith he trusted Jesus and it was counted to him for righteousness (Genesis 15:6). One of his favorite songs was “Jesus Loves Me” which he sang to his mom Amy the last time he visited her this February. God graciously gave him a blessed and full life.

Bruce is survived by his mother: Amy Paulson of Valley City, ND; his four brothers: David (Vanessa) Paulson of Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin Paulson of Valley City, ND, Michael (Tracy) Paulson of Valley City, ND, and Brian Paulson of Anchorage, AK; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Allen Paulson.
