Bruce Edward Smisek

Bruce Edward Smisek, age 44 of Lonsdale, MN, passed away
unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 in his home.
Bruce was born January 19th, 1982, in Northfield Hospital, MN, to
Donald and Molly (Leahy) Smisek. He was raised in Lonsdale and
graduated from New Prague High School in 2000. Bruce attended
Normandale College and graduated with an Associate of Science
Degree in 2011. Bruce worked in the Insurance Industry for the majority
of his Career in Claims and Account Management.
Bruce cherished time spent with his family and was happiest when
surrounded by his children, his dog Pink, his grandbabies, his nephews,
nieces, brothers, parents, friends and loved ones. He enjoyed going on
the pontoon creating memories that will always be treasured. Bruce also
enjoyed music and shared that love as a DJ; with the nickname ‘DJ
Buckwheat.’ His hobbies included volleyball, bowling and vehicle
detailing. He had a passion for travel and was fortunate to explore many
places around the world throughout his life. Bruce was a very helpful
man and willing to help anyone who needed it. He was loving, caring and
devoted to his family and friends. His presence, stories, and laughter will
be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 pm at
Whites Funeral Home in Lonsdale.   Visitation will also be held Monday,
June 29, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am prior to service.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 29, 2026 at Whites Funeral
Home at 11:00 am with lunch to follow at the Lonsdale American
Legion.
Survivors include his children, Alexis Moran (Connor) of New Prague,
Alexander Graff-Smisek (Nykole) of Faribault, and McKenzie Graff-
Smisek of New Prague; 2 grandchildren, Ivy Smisek and Ruby Smisek;
his Mother, Molly Smisek of Lonsdale; his brothers, Donald (Denise)
Smisek of Lonsdale and Jeff Smisek of Lonsdale; his nieces and
nephews, Nicole (Daryl) Smith, Cory (Amy) Smisek, Brittany (Grant)
Erickson, Megan (Parker) Holey, Travis Smisek, and Ryan Smisek; his
great nephew, Hayden Holey; his great nieces, Watson Erickson and
Bridget Erickson. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald
Smisek and his brothers, Dennis Smisek and Tommy Smisek.
