CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD OPENS TODAY (TUESDAY)

The filing period for city, county and state offices opens today (Tuesday).  Three city council seats are up for election in New Ulm – First and Third Ward and the Councilor-At-Large.  If you want to file city council, you need to fill out an affidavit of candidacy at New Ulm City Hall before 5 pm June 4.  Brown County has five offices up for election – County Commission Districts 1 and 3, Brown Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor Districts 1, 2 and 4.  Candidates interested in running for office must file an affidavit of candidacy before Tuesday, June 4 at the Brown County Courthouse by 5 June 4.  County and city offices will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
