Carrie Underwood Replaces Katy Perry As American Idol Judge
Carrie Underwood is homebound. After getting her career start as the Season 4 American Idol Champion in 2005, Carrie Underwood is returning to the show for Season 23 as a judge.
Katy Perry departed the singing competition at the end of last season leaving a vacancy between Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan. Carrie will fill that void and now becomes the first Idol alumni to ever sit permanently on the judge’s panel.
Season 23 will air in the Spring of 2025.
