DASSEL HOME DAMAGED BY FIRE

 Just after 9:00 a.m. Sunday Meeker County deputies responded to a house fire in Dassel. Heavy smoke was seen coming from a second-story window. BAUER APPEAL DENIED

The Winthrop man who killed 79-year-old Dennis Weitzenkamp on his farm in September 2022 had his appeal denied Monday.  48-year-old Travis Bauer worked on Weitzenkamp’s farm for years and the criminal complaint says he would benefit greatly from Weitzenkamp’s death.  Investigators confirmed gunshot residue on Bauer’s clothing and he lied to police about his whereabouts.  […]
