Charges, Serious Injury Reported Following Train/Pick Up Collision
A Nebraska man suffered serious injuries after his pickup was struck by a train a mile west of Casselton Wednesday morning.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 43-year-old Omaha man failed to yield at the marked crossing. The BNSF train hit the front of his pickup, spinning it into a nearby crossing sign. The vehicle eventually came to a rest in the ditch.
The man was taken to Sanford in Fargo with serious injuries. He’s been arrested for distracted driving, DUI, open container, and illegal possession of THC.
