Charlotte R. Borwege
Charlotte R. Borwege, age 89, of Faribault, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Mill City Senior Living in Faribault, following an extended illness.
Charlotte Rose was born on August 26, 1934, in Webster Township, Rice County, MN, the daughter of Frank W. and Julia V. (Malecha) Herda. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1952. Charlotte was married to William “Bill” Borwege on May 8, 1954, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale. Charlotte devoted her life to her husband Bill, seven children, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a skilled cook, seamstress and gardener, which provided a nurturing, loving home for all of them. Charlotte was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the I.C. Rosary Society (Martha Circle 39).
She is survived by her seven children, Kathleen LaCanne (Al) of Tempe, AZ, Barbara Anderson (Dave) of Dodge Center, MN, James Borwege (Lynn) of Otsego, MN, Donald Borwege of Faribault, Kenneth Borwege (Kelly Hein) of Faribault, Patricia Miller (Doug) of Faribault, and Constance Fillipi of Burnsville, MN; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; her siblings, Patricia Hrabe (Myron) of New Prague, MN, Fritz Herda (Mary Ann) of Faribault, Maynard Herda (Bonnie) of New Prague, Thomas Herda of Lonsdale, and Carol LeMieux (Jerry) of Faribault; sister-in-law, Joan Herda of New Prague; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sister, Donna DeGrood (Jim); brother, David Herda; daughter-in-law, Monica Borwege; sister-in-law, Donna Herda; and sister-in-law, Donna Knauss (Merlin).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, with Fr. Cory Rohlfing, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18 th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be designated to Divine Mercy Catholic Church or Brighton Hospice in memory of Charlotte.
