Christine Man Killed as Pursuit Ends in Cass County Crash
A 49-year-old Christine man was killed early Sunday when a vehicle fleeing a traffic stop crashed into his car south of Fargo.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a trooper attempted to stop a B-M-W driven by a 19-year-old Grand Forks man for traveling 109 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
Authorities say the driver continued east on Cass County Road 14, turned off the vehicle’s headlights and ran a stop sign at County Road 81. The B-M-W struck a Honda Accord traveling south through the intersection.
The Honda’s driver died at the scene. The fleeing driver and two juvenile passengers were taken to a Fargo hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt. Potential charges against the 19-year-old remain under investigation.
