CONDITIONS IN MINNESOTA WORSEN IN LATEST DROUGHT MONITOR MAP

Drought conditions are worsening in Minnesota as we move into late October.  The new U.S Drought Monitor map shows more than 71% of the state is in a moderate drought and 28% in a severe drought.  97% of Minnesota is now considered abnormally dry.  The driest areas are in northeast and north central Minnesota and the southwest corner of the state.
