Could Jelly Roll Get Pardoned In Tennessee?
The Tennessee Board of Parole just recommended that Jelly Roll receive a full pardon. If it happens, that would mean his past felony conviction for aggravated assault would no longer be on his record. Here’s what Jelly said at his parole hearing: “I want to be an inspiration for people who are now where I used to be… to let them know that change is truly possible.”
Jelly Roll has been very honest about his past. He served time for drug crimes and still has a felony conviction for aggravated assault on his record.
Nashville Sheriff, Daron Hall, spoke on behalf of Jelly at the parole meeting: “One year ago I wrote Governor Bill Lee asking for a full pardon for Jason “Jelly Roll” DeFord . . . Today the board unanimously recommended his pardon. It’s now in the hands of our governor.”
