Couturier’s hat trick lifts Flyers to 7-5 win over Wild, snapping 6-game losing streak

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Sean Couturier led the Philadelphia Flyers to a thrilling 7-5 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, marking the end of a six-game losing streak. Couturier not only netted a hat trick but also assisted on the game-winning goal scored by Rasmus Ristolainen. This loss was Minnesota’s first in regulation this season, ending their impressive seven-game point streak.

Ristolainen, typically a stay-at-home defenseman, made a bold move to crash the net and pounced on the rebound from Couturier’s shot, scoring his first goal of the season with just over two minutes left in the third period.

Couturier opened the scoring just over a minute into the game, celebrating his 500th career NHL point with his first goal. He added another in the third period during a chaotic scramble in front of the net, then capped off his hat trick with an empty-netter.

Travis Konecny contributed significantly with a goal and three assists, while Nick Seeler added a goal and an assist. Rookie Matvei Michkov also got in on the action, scoring the first even-strength goal of his career.

For the Wild, Marcus Foligno scored twice, with Brock Faber, Joel Eriksson Ek, and Jake Middleton each contributing a goal. This was the first time this season that Minnesota allowed at least five goals in regulation.
