Craig Seeks Congressional Hearings on Farm Economy

Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig is calling for additional congressional hearings on challenges facing farmers and rural communities.

Craig and Ohio Congresswoman Shontel Brown sent a letter to House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson requesting greater examination of the farm economy and federal agriculture policy.

The lawmakers want hearings addressing tariffs, rising food and production costs, farm-market conditions and other issues affecting rural America.

Craig, a Second District Democrat, is the ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee. Brown serves as vice ranking member.

The committee has not announced whether it will schedule the requested hearings.
