Crash Causes Extensive Damage to Cemetery in Stearns County

A Long Prairie man is facing third-degree DWI charges after his vehicle crashed through a stone wall and damaged numerous grave markers at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

The crash happened just before 3am Saturday.

Deputies later located 19-year-old Daniel Camorlinga Meza near the crash scene.

Investigators say he was driving a pickup and failed to stop at a T-intersection on County Road 17 before entering the cemetery.

Camorlinga Meza was arrested on suspicion of DWI and taken to the Stearns County Jail.

Cemetery officials estimate the damage at about 50-thousand dollars.
