CREWS RESPOND TO FIRE IN COURTLAND

Fire crews responded to a fire in a shop at 120 Shady Oak Road in Courtland Saturday evening.  Courtland Fire Chief Dave Ubel says the call came in at 5:52.  Ubel said there were acetylene (AY-set-ah-lean) welding cylanders in the shop and those set off explosions that were heard throughout Courtland.  Ubel said though that no other structures near the shop caught fire due to the rain that was falling.  No one was hurt and the state Fire Marshal is on the scene trying to determine a cause.  Nicollet Fire Department was called in for mutual aid.  North Mankato’s air truck was also used.  Fire crews cleared the scene at 9:40 pm.
