Dale A. Larson was born on February 9, 1945, to Gustave and Myrtle (Johnson) Larson. Following his graduation, Dale moved to the Twin Cities where he worked for Honeywell. He later returned to Wheaton and was employed at Add-A-Zyme. In 1965, Dale proudly entered the United States Navy. After his time in the service, he worked for Metz Bakery out of Fergus Falls, which later became Old Home and then Metz Baking Company. In later years, Dale dedicated himself to his family as a stay-at-home father.
Dale met the love of his life, Linda Hoffman, and the two were united in marriage on April 11, 1970. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage this month. To this union, they were blessed with two children.
Dale had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, often spending time with his son Brad pursuing turkey and deer, or out on the water fishing. As his grandson Eli grew older, three generations shared in these traditions together. In more recent years, Dale would accompany them, sitting in the pickup and watching for deer, taking great pride in seeing his son and grandson carry on the traditions he loved.
He was a member of the Masons and served as a Cub Scout Master, where he enjoyed mentoring young boys and leading camping trips. Dale and Linda also loved to travel, visiting all fifty states by bus, often with his grandchildren joining him on some of those adventures. Among his favorite memories were halibut fishing in Alaska and experiencing the beauty of Hawaii.
Dale took great pride in his flowers and gardening. In recent years, Linda lovingly helped tend to them, while Dale continued to guide and oversee, always offering instructions.
Dale is survived by his wife: Linda Larson of Wheaton; son: Bradley (Julie) Larson of Wheaton, MN; daughter: Marcy Larson of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Bailee (Stan) Fisher; and great-grandchildren: Silas, Eli Larson (girlfriend Olivia), Heather (Nick) Keppler; sisters: Marilyn (Gary) Timm of Wheaton, MN, and Joyce (Pastor Gary) Rehborg of Park Rapids, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
