David Melloy Rohde

David Melloy Rohde, age 84 of Waconia and formerly of Green Isle, passed away on July 3, 2024, at New Perspectives in Waconia. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Rev. Eric Rapp will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. till the service time at 11 a.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will be in the church cemetery followed by lunch and fellowship at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Paul’s Church general fund.

David Melloy Rohde was born in Swan Lake Township in Stevens County, MN on December 9, 1939, to Ole and Gladys (Christenson) Rohde. He graduated from Cyrus High School in 1957 and served in the US Navy from 1957-1960. Navy Reserves from 1960-1963. Dave married Connie Lou Lupold on July 7, 1961, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Delaware Run, PA. Dave worked for Charlynn/EATON Corp for over 41 years. His real passion was for farming and fishing, which he enjoyed throughout his lifetime. In his “retirement” years, he drove the bus for Emmanuel Lutheran School, served on the Green Isle Community school board and worked in the credit union at Eaton. Dave was a generous man and gave much of himself to others, from helping with fieldwork, cutting wood, electrical support, giving rides to doctor/hospital appointments, helping with car issues and the list goes on. He was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. He also held numerous offices at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School. Dave served on the Washington Lake Township board for over 20 years, as well as a Lions member for many years.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, brothers – James and Paul, sister – LaVonne Dempsey and great-grandson Collin Trebesch. He is survived by the love of his life and partner for 63 years, Connie, Children: Pastor Brian (Diann) Rohde, Deborah (Kipp) Trebesch, Paul (Shelley) Rohde, Timothy (Pamela) Rohde, Dr. Tamara Polzin, Pastor David (Tahri) Rohde, and Steven Rohde, 24 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. In addition, his sister, Sharon Bauer, sister-in-law, Laura Rohde, in laws, Carl & Betty Snyder, Larry & Judy McCormick, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
