Dayton Says Flock Cameras Were Reinstalled Without Approval

Dayton officials say two Flock license-plate cameras were returned to service without authorization while the city’s camera program was on hold.

The city says it explicitly told the company September 18 that maintenance orders should not be completed.

After discovering one camera had been reinstalled, officials checked other locations and found a second.

Dayton says both cameras will be removed promptly. The reason for their reinstatement remains unclear. Flock had not responded to a request for comment when the report was published.
