Death of New Ulm Man Being Investigated

The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a New Ulm man near New Ulm Monday morning.

Deputies received a call from a passerby about a person sitting in a vehicle that appeared to need assistance.

The vehicle was parked at Spring Wayside Park along  Highway 14.

Authorities found one male occupant in the locked vehicle dead of a gunshot wound.

A firearm was discovered inside the vehicle.

Authorities identified the man as 53-year-old Justin Lee Nelson of New Ulm.

The investigation is ongoing pending autopsy results.
